The Finely Tuned Parameters of the Solar System include: - Our Sun is positioned far from the Milky Way's center in a galactic Goldilocks zone of low radiation

In a study published in the journal Astronomy & Astrophysics, researchers say that they've discovered a solar system with not just one, but three planets that could support life only 22 light-years

The distance Earth orbits the Sun is just right for water to remain a liquid. This distance from the Sun is called the habitable zone, or the Goldilocks zone. Rocky exoplanets found in the habitable zones of their stars, are more likely targets for detecting liquid water on their surfaces. Why is liquid water so important? The Goldilocks Zone. 10.07.03.

roughly, as Max says, from Venus to Mars. Note: This zone does not include other potential ‘pockets’ of possible life existence within the solar system. The Goldilocks zone neither guarantees an atmosphere nor life on a planet. It is simply about liquid water. That is, if a planet happens to be in the Goldilocks zone, and if it happens to have an atmosphere, then water can exist on its surface in liquid form. This is believed to be a necessary, albeit not a sufficient condition for life.

In our Solar System it is thought the zone extends from outside the orbit of Venus to halfway through the asteroid belt (0.75 to 3AU).

Goldilocks zone in our solar system

But if it’s neither too far nor too close — in what some scientists refer to as the Goldilocks zone — water could pool as a liquid. Planet-hunting astronomers have been seeking habitable-zone planets because they’re the best places to look for life. Sitting in its solar system's habitable region, aka the Goldilocks Zone, K2-18b is thought to have a temperature of between -73 and 46 degrees Celsius. To look at the planet's atmosphere, Dr Tsiaras and his colleagues analysed data taken by the Hubble Space Telescope as the planet passed in front of its sun. And I - but in our understanding, you know, we kind of define the habitable zone based on our own solar system because we have our own knowledge of what planets are habitable in our solar system.

A third, Mars, barely Earth-sized, sits at the far edge of our Sun’s Goldilocks Zone making it barely inhabitable. If it’s too far, the extreme cold would freeze any water. But if it’s neither too far nor too close — in what some scientists refer to as the Goldilocks zone — water could pool as a liquid.
